Man Space - Man Hobby

Now I am sure everyone is aware that hobbies can be expensive, particularly for the male gender. We tend to choose hobbies like car restoration, or woodworking, or even glass blowing. All of these things require quite a bit of equipment, space and thus money. Womens hobbies can be the same, but they tend to be knitting, sewing or something along those lines. They can become expensive, but not like dropping $7000 on a crate engine for the old beater in the garage, or $1500 for a lathe. I think this is necessary though. If I am a wood worker, then I am probably going to create a purposeful item, ie. bookshelf, chair, armoire... ..you get the point. This end result justifies the expense. Not to say, sewing, knitting and the like do not produce results, but it follows that the more you spend, the more you get from it. All hobbies serve some purpose, whether it be producing something for the home, or for a side business, or just to fill that hole in a persons day. I am saying all of this because I need a hobby. TV watching isn't a hobby, and it is starting to drive me crazy. I love some TV and movies, but come on, let's get serious, how much TV can one person watch? I find that just tinkering around in the garage doing this or that makes me feel great and a lot more fulfilled. Money is a little tight though, so I must start small. I want to get my hands on a welder and learn how to weld, that would be awesome, there would be nothing I couldn't build if I knew how to weld. Well, I am going to wgo watch TV, I'll figure this out later.
